friends only

This journal is friends only, but if anyone's interested, feel free to comment here to be added...I just like to know who's reading what I'm writing...Not that it's anything too exciting, mostly random ramblings, but there's bound to be the odd bit of TMI from time to time...;}

Writer's Block: Ten minutes in heaven

If you could have 10 minutes alone with anyone in the world where you could do or say whatever you wanted without consequences, who would you choose and what would you do?

Am I the only one who would do something useful, and assassinate someone evil? I mean, 10 minutes with no consequences, that's the obvious choice. It would actually help make the world a better place. Well, ok, one person said they'd spray Sarah Palin with bear attractant and leave her in the Alaskan wilderness,(WIN!) but the rest of the answers are mostly about Jesus or some celebrity. I can't say who I'd choose, it would take some research, to see who's doing the most harm. Then a little fast-acting poison, and voila, that's one less evil frack to help with the destruction of our world. Might sound brutal, but it's just logical. How could you really feel bad about ending a reign of terror?

am I serious?that's for me to know...

Writer's Block: The final frontier

If you could only visit one Web site (other than LiveJournal) for the rest of your life, which would you choose, and why?'s a toss-up between Wikipedia and Wiki would probably be the winner, because I can spend hours on there reading about obscure musicians from the 60s, or Henry the 8th, or a million other random subjects.
But really, what a bleak prospect!

Writer's Block: Sheldon and Penny 4ever!

Fanfiction: Do you love it or hate it, or are you totally indifferent? Why?

I absolutely love it. I only discovered it about a year and a half ago, but in that time I've read a massive number of stories, in a lot of different fandoms. Mainly Twilight, but also Harry Potter, My So-Called Life, Firefly, Instant Star, Battlestar Galactica, Prison Break, and others that I might or might not be embarrassed to mention. (Kyle XY and Seventh Heaven spring to mind...)There are some real gems out there, if you're willing to look. And to make it even easier, there are some great communities that recommend stories, so you don't have to wade through the dross. Ficdiving on can also be fun, and you never know when you'll find something amazing.
Some of the best stories I've read are fanfiction. Good writing is good writing. Some people never wrote a word before finding fanfiction, and then were inspired to create a masterpiece.
Also, I have been introduced to a varied community of interesting and talented people from around the world through Twific. Edwardville FTW!

So, I just watched the last episode of Glee...and it sucked so hard. I've really enjoyed the series so far, but aside from a few small moments that were ok, I could hardly watch this one. The songs were mostly so bad I wanted to plug my ears. I really,really hope it was an anomaly, because if it continues like that, I'm flouncing. Something that has bothered me about the show lately is the complete lack of belly on least this one she was showing a little, finally
I was so disappointed, because I look forward to Glee every week, and sometimes even watch parts more than once. But this was so fail, I could hardly sit through it the first time.

Writer's Block: Young and driven

What is the legal drinking age where you live? Do you think it should be higher, lower, or remain the same, and why?

It's 19 here in Canada(actually, it's only 18 in some areas, like Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec)but if someone wants to drink, they will. I never had a problem getting alcohol as a young teen, and neither did anyone else that I knew. We'd find an older friend, or ask random older drunks going to get their fix. We'd always find a way. But I don't really think lowering it would help anything. I agree with someone else who answered, they should just raise the driving age by several years.  That would prevent a massive number of deaths. Because every teen that I knew drank, and every teen that I knew drove while inebriated. And they weren't all so lucky as to avoid catastrophe. The part of your brain that governs common sense, that helps you to make mature decisions, isn't fully developed until you're 25. I'm not advocating raising the driving age to 25,(but have you noticed that you can't rent a car until that age?there's a good reason for that) but certainly I do believe that 16 is too young. All you have to do is look at the statistics to see that I'm right. I know this question was about drinking ages, but all things are interconnected, and the driving age is directly related to alcohol.
